Club Punta Fuego and Punta Fuego Yacht Club’s 30th berth floating pontoon rehabilitation was completed on February 17, 2015. The extensive rehabilitation included replacing the 30th berth wood floating pontoon system with the country’s first world standard marine grade aluminium frame with light weight FRP (Fibre-reinforced Plastic) grate decking pontoon system which combination is expected to give long lasting minimum maintenance system.
All service pedestals were replaced with electric and water systems upgraded to world marina standards. Assembly of the rehabilitation works started on November 3 and completed in 80 days ahead of the budgeted completion of 120 days. Official opening of the new pontoon systems is scheduled on February 28, 2015 to coincide with the 4th Punta Fuego Club Sailing Championship Series Regatta.
